Dr. Rob Myers, Senior Pastor
When you meet Pastor Rob you will quickly become aware of three things that are important to him: his love for preaching the Word of God, his love for his family, and his love for his church family. Dr. Myers is a gifted and faithful teacher whose messages combine sound, Biblical preaching, and practical, candid application. His extensive historical knowledge provides context, insight, and understanding as he encourages his listeners to join him in becoming a student of God’s Word.
As a Pastor with 36 years of experience, Pastor Rob is committed to equipping the church body to become the mature disciple making organization that Christ intended. He has published a set of books on Discipleship called The Xristos Factor. The books are a ten-week intensive guided study and devotional on becoming mature disciples in Christ. He also has a daily radio Bible program on Life F.M., where thousands of people hear the clear Word of God all throughout the metro Miami area Monday through Friday. For the last 15 years under Pastor Rob’s loving guidance, Miami Baptist Church has become one of the most integrated and relevant churches in the Miami area. Miami Baptist Church is known as a place where the gospel is preached, the presence of God is experienced and the love of God is felt. Miami Baptist Church truly is a life-giving church with a relevant message that helps people connect with God and with one another.
Pastor Rob was born in Dallas Texas, 1956, and is the son of First Baptist Church Dallas, recreation pioneers, Bob & Jeane Myers and eventual IMB Missionaries to Panama. As a young man on the mission field with his parents, he became conversationally fluent in Spanish. This experience in missions birthed a driving desire to be involved in world missions and to lead this church to do the same! Several times a year he travels to teach pastors around the Caribbean and the Southern Americas as an adjunct professor at Indiana Wesleyan University. He has led our church to work with the PEACE plan with Saddleback Church.
Pastor Myers is a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University (Bachelor of Arts) Southwestern Theological Seminary (Master’s in Divinity) and John Wesley University (Doctorate of Ministry in Leadership).
In 1981 he married a wonderful partner in ministry, Dr. Estelle Myers. They have served arm in arm in their ministry of church and family. They have three fantastic adult sons: Robert, who works for the U.S. Senate Republican Conference; Pastor Mike Myers (wife Allie and granddaughter Rebecca) and Pastor/Evangelist Thomas Myers.
Dr. Estelle Myers, Church & School Administrator & Leader of Woman’s Ministries
There are few women that you will ever meet that have as dynamic a ministry as Dr. Estelle Myers. Not only is she a gifted Bible teacher and counselor, she excels with the biblical gift of administration. She has been instrumental in working at Pastor Rob’s side to create and develop many young people into positions of leadership within our organization. She is fulfilling the vision of the church to a Christian school, and is our headmaster of the school. Estelle leads the women’s ministry teams in mentoring, and in missions. She is frequently a women’s conference speaker. There are few women who can teach the word of God as she does. Estelle has helped to organize almost every facet of our church. She is a true disciple maker, and as she and Rob have been in our church for the last 15 years, she is now intent on equipping the next generation of church leaders for Miami Baptist Church. She is one of the best marital counselors in Miami and leads our counseling program at the church.
Dr. Estelle has her bachelor of arts degree from California Baptist University; her Masters in Religious Education with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Theological Seminary, and her Doctorate of Ministry in Leadership from John Wesley University.
In 1981 she married her partner in ministry, Dr. Rob Myers. They have served arm in arm in their ministry of church and family. They have three fantastic adult sons: Robert, who works for the U.S. Senate Republican Conference; Pastor Mike Myers (wife Allie and granddaughter Rebecca) and Pastor/Evangelist Thomas Myers.
Rev. Mike Myers, Associate Pastor of Young Adults
As a Young Adult Pastor of 6 years, Mike’s greatest desire is to see young people come to know Christ and then truly walk in the will of the Lord. Over and over again, the area youth come to know Christ personally through his strong Biblical preaching which is delivered in a way that the young people can relate to. He is an amazing verse by verse Bible teacher who finds extremely creative ways to relate the material. Mike has partnered our church with an on-campus high school ministry called First Priority. He has bible studies now on three secular campuses and speaks regularly at local Christian high schools. He is effectively taking the Gospel beyond the walls of the church to where the youth are! Now as an Associate Pastor, Mike often fills the role of speaking in the main Sunday morning service as well.
Mike is married to his wonderful wife, Alessandra Myers and is Father to Rebecca Myers who is soon to be joined by another sibling soon! He is a high school graduate of Florida Christian High School; was Graduated from Liberty University with a B.S. in Psychology and is currently completing a Masters degree at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary campus in Miami.
Rev. Thomas Myers, Executive Pastor and Church Field Evangelist
Thomas, as the Executive Pastor of our church, has a major role in assisting the Senior Pastor with the leadership responsibilities of the church. Currently he is in charge of the training and organization for the Church’s small groups. He also is the Preaching Pastor for our new Millennial service on Sunday Nights! As a Field Evangelist we as a church see him as part of our missions outreach. If your church or organization needs a speaker or evangelist for an event, he is yours to use on behalf of our church wherever the Lord leads. Thomas has a heart for evangelism and felt called to be an evangelist from a young age. Thomas received a Bachelor’s degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia in Philosophy and Religion and a Master’s of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Thomas was raised going to Miami Baptist Church and a about three years ago affirmed God’s call to come back and pastor.

What We Believe
1. Loving God and His Word – The Bible is Preeminent
(Mark 12:30) We value the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant Word of God (II Tim. 3:16) and that God reveals Himself through nature, His Word, and the life of Jesus Christ, all of which we discover through the reading of His Holy Scriptures (John 1:14).
God is our Father/Creator (Genesis 1:26) and we worship Him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24)
Jesus is the Word revealed (John 1:34), who died for the forgiveness of sin, was buried, and was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures (Romans 5:8 – 10; 1 Corinthians 15:3 – 6)
Salvation comes by Grace through faith in the Son of God. (Acts 1:8; Ephesians 2:8 – 9)
Eternal life is promised to all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 3:16)
2. Loving People – Demonstrating Compassion in Community Through Servant Leadership
(Mark 12:31) We value life and all people, for all are created as the children of God (Isaiah 43:7;Rev. 4:11), and are designed to give Him glory; therefore, we too shall respect and love all people as we love ourselves by serving them as our Lord served us (Mark 10:45; Matt. 25:34-40).
3. Reaching People Locally – Evangelizing the Lost
(Matt. 28:18-19) We are committed to sharing the love of Christ with our families, neighbors, friends and co-workers individually and corporately as the body of Christ through worship services, bible study groups, home groups, and special events in our community throughout the year (Acts 5:42;Acts 20:20).
4. Making Disciples – Teaching & Baptizing New Believers
(Matt. 28:18-20) Jesus invites us to share His ministry in teaching and baptizing new believers and so we dedicated ourselves to doing the same for every member is a ministry partner. (Deut. 4:9;John 8:2;Romans 6:3-4)
5. Reaching People Globally – Supporting New Mission Endeavors
(Acts 1:8) God holds us accountable in reaching not only our own families and local communities, but also in helping others around the world to discover His love and good news that Jesus Christ died for all, and in Him we find unity.
6. Reaching the Next Generation – Committed to Children and Youth Ministries
God desires each generation to know Him and share His love with the next; therefore we devote our time and resources to serving our children and youth not only in our congregation, but also those in our surrounding community. (Deut. 6:4-7; Psalm 145:4; Matt. 19:14)
7. Building up the Family Unit – Glorifying God Through Strong Marriages
We are committed to marriage and family as being ordained by God Himself, for He desires godly offspring that come through the example of godly parents. (Gen. 2:24;Eph. 5:31;Isaiah 44:3; Mal. 2:15)
8. Committing to Excellence in Everything-Always Striving to Give God Our Best
In all we do we are to work hard as unto God and not for the praise of men, we are to be diligent, giving God Almighty our absolute best for He is worthy of nothing less. (Col 3:23; I Cor. 16:10; II Chron. 31:21;Eph. 6:7; Ecc. 9:10)
9. Creating New Ways to Share the Gospel – Innovation and Creativity are Priority
We are committed to creative worship and innovative means of sharing the gospel in an attempt to stay relevant within community and to reflect the “newness” of God’s creation in our lives and in our hearts. (Psalm 98:1; I Cor. 9:22;II Cor. 5:7; Psalm 144:9; Psalm 33:3; Psalm 96:1;Psalm 149:1)
10. Utilizing All of Our Resources for Kingdom Purposes – Giving is Priority
Everything we have belongs to God, therefore, we will be good stewards of what He has given us and be faithful to serve Him with all of the resources He has given us; we will serve Him with our tithes and offerings, with our time and with our talents, all we have will be utilized for His glory. (Mal.3: 8-10; Matt. 25:14-30; Luke 6:38; II Cor. 9:7)

History of Miami Baptist Church
Our church began as a mission of Wayside Baptist Church in Miami, FL and was incorporated in 1994. We began with a handful of families meeting in a local elementary school in West Kendall. Later we moved to Hammocks Middle School and grew until we were able to occupy a storefront on North Kendall Drive and 156th Avenue. Several years later, God blessed us with over 10 acres of property and we were able to move into our present building in 1999.
Over the years, we have grown and have ministered to thousands of families in our community. Our goal is to inhabit our land and be a lighthouse in this community for Christ. We are continually expanding the ministries of our church. We opened Miami Baptist School in February of 2008.
We believe a great commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission will grow a great church. We Believe the Gospel is the power of God unto Salvation
