STATEMENT OF FAITH

1. Loving God and His Word – The Bible is Preeminent

(Mark 12:30) We value the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant Word of God (II Tim. 3:16) and that God reveals Himself through nature, His Word, and the life of Jesus Christ, all of which we discover through the reading of His Holy Scriptures (John 1:14).

Also, we believe that God is our Father/Creator (Genesis 1:26) and we worship Him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24)

Jesus is the Word revealed (John 1:34), who died for the forgiveness of sin, was buried, and was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures (Romans 5:8 – 10; 1 Corinthians 15:3 – 6)

As a result, salvation comes by Grace through faith in the Son of God. (Acts 1:8; Ephesians 2:8 – 9).

Certainly, eternal life is promised to all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 3:16)

2. Loving People – Demonstrating Compassion in Community Through Servant Leadership

(Mark 12:31) We value life and all people, for all are created as the children of God (Isaiah 43:7;Rev. 4:11), and are designed to give Him glory; therefore, we too shall respect and love all people as we love ourselves by serving them as our Lord served us (Mark 10:45; Matt. 25:34-40).

3. Reaching People Locally – Evangelizing the Lost

(Matt. 28:18-19) We are committed to sharing the love of Christ with our families, neighbors, friends and co-workers individually and corporately as the body of Christ through worship services, bible study groups, home groups, and special events in our community throughout the year (Acts 5:42;Acts 20:20).

4. Making Disciples – Teaching & Baptizing New Believers

(Matt. 28:18-20) Jesus invites us to share His ministry in teaching and baptizing new believers and as a result we dedicated ourselves to doing the same for every member is a ministry partner. (Deut. 4:9;John 8:2;Romans 6:3-4)

5. Reaching People Globally – Supporting New Mission Endeavors

(Acts 1:8) Here at MBC we believe that God holds us accountable in reaching not only our own families and local communities, but also in helping others around the world to discover His love and good news that Jesus Christ died for all, and in Him we find unity.

6. Reaching the Next Generation – Committed to Children and Youth Ministries

We believe that God desires each generation to know Him and share His love with the next; therefore we devote our time and resources to serving our children and youth not only in our congregation, but also those in our surrounding community. (Deut. 6:4-7; Psalm 145:4; Matt. 19:14)

7. Building up the Family Unit – Glorifying God Through Strong Marriages

We are committed to marriage and family as being ordained by God Himself, for He desires godly offspring that come through the example of godly parents. (Gen. 2:24;Eph. 5:31;Isaiah 44:3; Mal. 2:15)

8. Committing to Excellence in Everything-Always Striving to Give God Our Best

In all we do we are to work hard as unto God and not for the praise of men, we are to be diligent, giving God Almighty our absolute best for He is worthy of nothing less. (Col 3:23; I Cor. 16:10; II Chron. 31:21;Eph. 6:7; Ecc. 9:10)

9. Creating New Ways to Share the Gospel – Innovation and Creativity are Priority

Our commitment is to creative worship and innovative means of sharing the gospel in an attempt to stay relevant within community and to reflect the “newness” of God’s creation in our lives and in our hearts. (Psalm 98:1; I Cor. 9:22;II Cor. 5:7; Psalm 144:9; 33:3; 96:1; 149:1)

10. Utilizing All of Our Resources for Kingdom Purposes – Giving is Priority

We believe that everything we have belongs to God, therefore, we will be good stewards of what He has given us and be faithful to serve Him with all of the resources He has given us; consequently, we will serve Him with our tithes and offerings, with our time and with our talents, all we have will be utilized for His glory. (Mal.3: 8-10; Matt. 25:14-30; Luke 6:38; II Cor. 9:7)
